Procurement of Goods and Services
The Texas Medical Center Corporation procures more than $10 million each year in outside goods and services. These items support business activities such as parking services, building and construction projects, campus property maintenance, and the provision of meeting rooms and dining services in facilities available for use by member institutions. The Texas Medical Center Corporation also coordinates, on behalf of member institutions, center-wide efforts with many public entities such as METRO, City of Houston, Harris County, and state and federal governments as needed.
The Texas Medical Center Corporation is committed to doing business with suppliers that provide high quality, innovative products and services, on schedule, and at competitive prices.
Employees of the Texas Medical Center Corporation are prohibited from accepting gifts or gratuities from suppliers. The offer or acceptance of gifts is inappropriate and discouraged. Under no circumstances will Texas Medical Center Corporation employees solicit any gift or gratuity.
The Texas Medical Center Corporation reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals or bids, and does not bind itself to accept the lowest bid for any materials, products, or services submitted. Non-acceptance of any proposal or bid will not imply any criticism of or deficiency in any proposal. Non-acceptance may indicate that another approach was deemed to be more advantageous for the needs and requirements of the Texas Medical Center Corporation.
